Flex Convert: a currency and unit converter built as a standalone product
A standalone web converter spanning 10 quantity categories — currency with daily rates and a configurable currency list, plus pressure, temperature, length, weight, area, volume, speed, time, and energy — with its own calculator and SEO guides.
The problem
Converting currency or a physical quantity is a common but scattered task: currency needs one site with an up-to-date rate, pressure or temperature needs another calculator, and energy or speed needs a third. There's usually no single tool that covers all of it in one interface without extra screens.
The second issue is trust in the result: a currency converter rarely shows which date or rate it used, and an engineering calculator rarely shows which coefficient it applied — so the number often has to be double-checked by hand.
Ten quantity categories in one interface
Flex Convert combines currency and nine engineering quantities — pressure, temperature, length, weight, area, volume, speed, time, and energy — in a single category dropdown instead of a separate tool per task. Engineering quantities are computed through a factor adapter to a base unit: pressure, for instance, routes through pascal (Pa, kPa, MPa, bar, kgf/cm², atm, mmHg), so adding a new unit doesn't require a separate formula for every pair of units.
Any row's result copies to the clipboard in one click, and a separate "Calculator" tab on the same page handles more complex calculations.
Currency — with a configurable list and a rate date
The currency section isn't just a "dollar to som" converter: the currency list is configured through a separate dialog (checking the ones you need from RUB, UZS, USD, EUR, KZT, GBP, TRY, CNY, JPY, AED, and more) and drag-reordered, with the rate's date shown right above the list.
To build traffic around the currency topic, the site has a separate "Guides" section — for example, an article titled "How to convert currencies online: a complete guide" explains the difference between the mid-market rate and a bank's rate, so the converter doesn't just compute a number, it explains how to read it.
Result
The tool already runs live on its own domain, flex-convert.ecomdev.uz, separate from the other products — with its own RU/EN/UZ locales, a light/dark theme toggle, and a "Partnership" section linking back to the main site.
SEO guides and ten quantity categories in one interface give the converter its own source of organic traffic, instead of relying on traffic from the company's other products.
